Do you want to discover the American Sistene Chapel? Join this trip to the Sanctuary of Atonilco, where you'll see how history and architecture mingle in perfect harmony.
At the scheduled time, the group will meet on Calle Relox and head to the Sanctuary of Atonilco. It'll take approximately 20 minutes to reach this stunning World Heritage Site.
Once you've arrived at your destination, you'll immediately be drawn to the beauty of the temple, as you come to understand its history. You'll be brought back to the 18th century to discover its origins and links to the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Mexican Independence.
Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to see what lies within the sanctuary, such as the frescos in the popular Mexican baroque style. Did you know that this temple is nicknamed the American Sistine Chapel?
Once the guided tour has ended, after about 45 minutes, we'll go to the centre of the village of Atotonilco, where we'll leave you some free time so that, if you wish, you can try some of the local gastronomy.
With renewed energy, we'll head back where we started, where we'll arrive 2 hours after the start.
