Witness the other face of Rio de Janeiro with this guided walking tour of the Rocinha favela, in which you will discover the least known and most surprising corners of the Brazilian favelas.
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at exit A of the São Conrado metro station and, from there, we'll take a tour by motorbike taxi and on foot through the Rocinha favela.
First, we'll visit the Rocinha Viewpoint and the Craft Fair. From there, we'll head to the Capoeira Project, where we'll see how young people from the community practise maculelê, capoeira, samba, and passinho de funk. Next, we'll go to a local home, where we'll enjoy the views from the rooftop.
We'll continue the tour by visiting the gallery of the artist Wark and the Castelinho court, a space for social gathering and transformation. The tour will then continue along the famous Funk Street and Via Ápia, the most vibrant street in Rocinha and its main commercial centre.
Finally, our tour will conclude at Acadêmicos da Rocinha, the community's traditional samba school.
