Tour Details
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Portobelo Mall in Guatapé.. From there, we'll make our way to the coffee farm located in the neighbourhood of Vereda Bonilla, situated just 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
At the farm, our local farmer will be waiting for us and will show us how the coffee beans are grown. As we'll see, the seeds are carefully chosen. From this moment, every single day, the germination of the seeds must be controlled via the correct irrigation technique.
The next step consists of collecting the coffee beans, that at first may present quite a reddish colour. These beans are then stored in sacks which are then taken to the pressing plant. There, we'll see how they are ground before being taken to the drying area.
Between phases, we'll discover some interesting facts about Colombian coffee, which is currently one of the most exported products in South America. Do you know how many tonnes are sent to other countries each year? The figure is sure to surprise you!
We'll bring this farm visit to an end by trying some delicious local coffee. Pay attention to the complex aromas, colours and taste, all of which make for a great product.
Finally, after 1.5 hours together, we'll return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
