They kept me waiting for two hours picking people up from hotels for the Chichen Itza tour. The program said it would be from 7:10 to 8:00, but they scheduled it for 6:10. We barely had time to see Chichen Itza with a mediocre local guide, and we spent a lot of time in the shops. Something similar happened in Tulum.

The experience in Tulum was excellent. We had a small group and a great guide, Misael, who was very kind and told us wonderful stories about the Maya. He accompanied us the entire way and even swam to take us through the Celote Nohoch cave. The Chichen Itza experience was very good; the site is impressive. However, the group was too large, and we didn't get to learn as much about the history as I would have liked. I didn't like the itinerary for that day as much; I think it would have been better to start with the archaeological zone. Opinion translated. Show original.

Sergio, the guide on the first day, seemed excellent. The tour was everything I expected; the home-cooked food cooked by Mayan families was delicious, and the cenote was spectacular. The second day, the Tulum tour left a lot to be desired, especially because the beach was closed due to seaweed. The guide, Tomas, was excellent, and the cenote was undoubtedly the highlight of the day, as they took us swimming through a cave filled with bats, stalactites, and other creatures—in my opinion, the best part of both tours. I did the 2-day excursions. Day 1: The cenote was beautiful. The guide's recommendation was spectacular since I was able to swim practically alone for about 45 minutes in the cenote. I would add more time in Valladolid, it seemed beautiful to me and we were only there for 30 minutes. Day 2: Tulum is beautiful. The guide Mari is a genius. I had to go with people who only spoke English but Mari told me to stay next to her so she could translate everything into Spanish for me. A real GENIUS. The visit to the cenote was also very good. Translate this opinion into English.

The tour content was excellent. The downside is that the hotel pick-up time was 6:45 a.m. on both days, earlier than the information in the activity description, so we were unable to have breakfast at the hotel, which would only start at 7 a.m. (When we organized the trip, we were assuming that the hotel pick-up would be at the time indicated in the tour description and we booked the hotel with that in mind).

My assessment is an average of the two days. I would differentiate the experiences of Chichen Itza, which was quite bad, from that of Tulum, which was great. In Chichen Itza it seemed like a day of shopping. The guides were only interested in us buying. On the bus, sunscreen and repellent (their need was exaggerated and at an exorbitant price), and then the products from the cenote store. They kept us 2 hours in the store and then only 1 hour to eat and swim. In addition, the guide and the visit to the site were pitiful.

Vale a pena visitar Chichen Itza e Tulum!

It's worth visiting Chichen Itza and Tulum! The cenotes are spectacular, but there are a lot of people. The guides have a lot of knowledge about Maya history. The guide Leo from Tulum was exceptional. Don't buy the biodegradable cream on the bus; you can't use it in the cenote. I bought the tour in PT, but the company didn't want to pay the PT guide and tried to blame Civitatis. Buy the tickets for Chichen Itza directly on the official site 643MX; the company charges a 30% commission (they charged 720MX and only paid 548MX)

Demasiado pesado

The great guide, his perfect explanations. But we had some visits left over that Fire only to buy. On the other hand, they make customer pickup routes so long that what is 1 hour away takes 4 hours in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. Overweight

Both tours were excellent with spectacular organization. At the stipulated time, the transport for the tours on both days was there waiting for me, which demonstrates punctuality. The only bad logistics was the cenote held on the first day, which took place at the first time and then went to Chichén Itza. Furthermore, the company that offers the Civitatis tour did not respond to me via the website and only responded via WhatsApp when asked if everything was ok. Opinion translated. Show original.

Y llevar mucha agua Translate this opinion into English.

Translate this opinion into English.

First day, Chichen Itza excursion. It would have been better to visit the cenote after the ruins to cool off from the heat, a little more time in Valladolid would have been nice and not have some guides (Gaby and her assistant) trying to sell you things from minute one the excursion begins, quite uncomfortable his attidude. Day two Tulum. The excursion was very relaxed, comfortable and entertaining, with an excellent guide, Sandro. Opinion translated. Show original.

Good, fun, although it would be good if they separated the English and Spanish people from the beginning, it is uncomfortable to listen to the information twice. It would be good if they increased the time, especially in Valledolid, there are many people and it is not possible to go around it, in our case we barely managed to line up to buy a typical meal and it was time to return Opinion translated.

During the first day of the tour we had two guides who seemed more like salesmen or merchants. They offer you a biodegradable repellent for 250 pesos and a biodegradable sunscreen. They claim that they are the only ones allowed in the cenote and that you are going to need them. DON'T BUY THEM. In the cenote they make you take a shower so you can't have any product applied to your skin. You can get the repellent at any GoMart for 45 pesos. They really want to get money from you.

Boa. Translate this opinion into English.

Good. There was a lack of better service from the local supplier in terms of telephone service or email confirmation of the location and time of pick-up from the hotel. It’s a pity I can’t rate each of the days separately The day to Chichen was like a market. They try to sell you different kind of stuff and trying to sell repellents and sunscreen was too much. They say that you need them but you don’t! The excursion looks like a transportation, they don’t tell you much about the county and culture, the guide didn’t seem interested at all. I would rate this day 3 of 5. The second day to Tulum was way better! The group was smaller and the guide was very nice!

On an excursion on the first day, I felt that all the time I wanted to. Sell me products instead of telling me in-depth curiosities and stories about the Mayan culture. Although the guides were good and funny, I got tired of that aspect throughout the day. The second day was better. The excellent guide and they did not try to sell in such an exaggerated way. It is good to see the most important, but if you have time I recommend going by bus or renting a car and looking for guides right there.
